Kung Pao Chicken


Kung Pao a very famous, classic Chinese dish. Slight sweet, spicy, sour in taste. Very delicious.


300 chicken breast, cut into chunks
3-4 large dried chillies
50g roasted peanuts
11/2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 spring onions, finely sliced

For Marinade
a pinch bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp cornflour
2 pinches of salt
2 tbsp water

For Sauce
1 ½ tsp ginger, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
½ tsp peppercorns, ground (sichuan preferred)
1 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 ½ tbsp rice wine (or dry sherry)
½ tbsp balsamic vinegar mixed with ½ tbsp water
50ml water

1:-mix chicken with marinade &keep it in the fridge for 30 mts

2:-mix all sauce ingredients & keep it aside

3:-heat oil in a wok fry the red chilly, then the peanuts

4:-fry the marinated chicken in the same oil until both side turn slight brown &keep it aside

5:- again the pan add the sauce mix, bring to boil, then add chicken, peanuts &the fried chilly

6:- cook until all the water evaporate, chicken well coated with sauce.

7:-garnish with green onion

8:-serve hot




Stir Fried Noodles

noodles 2 pkt

carrot 2 grated

beans few cut diagonally

capsicum thinly sliced (any colour)

garlic 3 cloves sliced

soya sauce 1 tbs

chilli sauce 1-2 tsp

oil 1 tbs

Cook noodles according to the packet instruction, drain the water, then run cold tap water over the noodles for 1-2 mts & keep it aside.

Heat oil in a nonstick pan ,add sliced  garlic & beans , then capsicum &carrot, cook until its done, then add the washed noodles , saute well until its well mixed with vegetables, then add the sauces, mix well.

Your stir fried noodles ready. Serve hot& ENJOY


Boneless skinless chicken 1/2 kg(slice into thin strips)

For marination

Dried red chilly 10-20 (make a paste& keep half for gravy)
ginger 1 inch
garlic 1 big bulb (both make paste& keep half for gravy) or you can use ginger garlic paste
egg 2
corn flour 2 tbls
maida 1 tbs
salt to taste
soy souse 2tsp

Mix all together and marinate the chicken &keep it aside atleast for half an hour

Then fry the chicken & keep it aside

Preparing the gravy

capsicum 2-3 different colours sliced into strips
onion 1 sliced
cashew whole few
red whole chilly few
chilly paste
ginger garlic paste
soy sause 2 tsp
sugar 1tsp
tomato sauce 11/2 tbs
spring onion for ˝garnishing
salt to taste

In a nonstick pan add some oil & fry cashew until its turns brown, then add whole red chilly, then the onion &capsicum. Once its half done add ginger garlic paste, saute well, now add the chilly paste &add other sauces, sugar &salt. saute well then add the fried chicken, mix well. Garnish with spring onion & serve hot. Enjoy your really yummy &tasty home made Dragon Chicken.
