Doughnut/Donut Buns

Plain flour 4 cups

dried active yeast 1 sachet (7gm)

caster sugar 3 tbs

butter, melted 50gm

egg 1

salt 1tsp

warm whole milk 1 cup(not hot or cold)

Method

Add yeast &sugar into milk &keep it aside for 5-10 mts

mix flour &salt in a large bowl

then add melted butter &egg into the milk mixture &mix well

make a well into the flour ,then pour the egg mixture &mix

now the fun part knead knead knead until you get a nice smooth dough 5-10 minutes(you can use mixer if you have one) if you feel the dough is too sticky add additional flour to the surface)

Place the dough into the bowl and cover with the tea towel, leave in a warm dry place foratleastt 45 minutes until doubled in size.

After 45 minutes ,punch down the dough,then remove the dough from the bowl, knead for another mt,

using a rolling pin , roll the dough 1 inch thick &cut out into round buns or use can simply make small balls.

leave this in a baking tray for another 15-30mts until its again double in size

then heat oil in a kadai (medium heat)fry each donuts both sides until its turns golden brown.

take some sugar in a bowl , coat each donuts with sugar while it warm.

once its warm down use a spoon or stick make a hole in the donut &fill your favourite filling. (jam or whipping cream etc)

Stuffed Bun/Meat Bun/Dinner Bun

This is super easy, quick &very fluffy bun recipe. You can use this dough for any kind of buns like plain dinner buns, sweet buns or stuffed buns etc.. I used beef filling. if anyone interested in this filling recipe, feel free to ask. i will definitely post it soon.

For bun dough

21/2 cup flour

1 pkt yeast (8 gms)

1/2 cup milk

100 ml boiling water

1/4 cup vegetable oil

3-4 tbs sugar

1/2 tsp salt

Mix flour & yeast

then mix all the wet ingredients ( needs to be Luke warm) add sugar & salt . Mix well

then pour this mixture into the flour mixture & knead well. ( use a standing machine with dough hook on or use your strong muscles)

keep this in a bowl for at least 30 mts , double in size.

take out from the bowl , kneed again for another few mts.

Make small balls, spread this with rolling pin, put 1 tbs your favourite filling , roll again & keep this in a lined baking sheet. Allow to rise again for another 5-10  Mts.

optional:-Egg wash on top of the bread gives you nice brown colour. (  mix one egg & 1 tbs milk , brush it on top the buns)

Bake for 10-15 Mts in a 400 degree preheated oven.
